About Us
The Greenhouse is a family run business that produces Certified Organic vegetable seedlings and potted herbs in Perth, Western Australia. My name is Leesa Caldwell and I am the owner/proprietor of The Greenhouse. I purchased The Greenhouse in 2008 because I needed a career change. I didn't know much about growing seedlings, but after many failures, and six years on, I have finally got it nailed. My range has grown over the years to make us the largest supplier of Certified Organic Vegetable Seedlings and Potted Herbs.
The Greenhouse and Tass1Trees are joining together and opening a new Nursery in Middle Swan. We will become one of the largest edible plant nurseries in Western Australia. Our nursery will offer a full range of The Greenhouse's Certified Organic Vegetable Seedlings, Potted Herbs and organic heirloom seeds and Tass1Tree's full range of edible fruit trees including a wide range of rare and exotic herbs and fruit trees.
We will be open 4 days per week to start with - Thursday to Sunday from 9.00am to 4.30pm. Our nursery is on the cnr of Toodyay and Wilson Rd's, Middle Swan (the old Jane Brook Nursery). Once our greenhouse is finished and all our stock is there we will open 6 days per week.
Our Seedlings
A special homemade organic seedling mix is produced to ensure that seeds get the best possible start and become healthy living food. Each seedling mix is freshly made and all the seeds I use to produce The Greenhouse products are either organic/certified organic or biodynamic non-hybrid/open-pollinated seeds.
Herbs
I grow a range of culinary and medicinal herbs. The Medicinal Herbs is a passion of mine. If there is a specific herb that you are after, just give me a call and if I am not already growing it I can purchase the seeds and grow it for you.
Vegetables
My vegetables I do by seasons. We are very lucky over here as we can grow just about anything all year. To find out what is in season just go to my Vegetable Seedling/seed page. Vegetables are sold in punnets,pots and seed packets. .
Micro-Greens
The Greenhouse now produces Certified Organic Micro-Greens. Micro-Greens are 3 - 40% more nutritional than when they are at fully grown. Visit our on-line shop for varieties available. Restaurants who wish to purchase our Certified Organic Micro-greens give Leesa a call to order. Please allow 2 -3 weeks for your first order.
Seeds
I produce a range of non-hybrid/open pollinated organic Herb and Vegetable seed packets which you can purchase on-line, at South Fremantle Garden Centre or Enviroment House, (See retail outlets for address details).
On-line Delivery Service
The Greenhouse have now started our On-Line Delivery Service. If you can't come to us, we can come to you. We can deliver to your doorstep everything you need to start or continue growing your own food and medicine. Visit our shop and check out what we can deliver. Orders will be delivered within 2 - 5 business days after payment has been received through our secure online payment service.
Please make sure that you provide a phone number when placing your order. Our driver will call you on the day to let you know the estimated delivery time. If your premises are unattended when delivery is attempted then our driver will place orders in a suitable location. If this happens then the ordered is said to be delivered and received.
